Distributor Logo Development and Design

Distributor Logo Development

To begin with I watched various tutorials on YouTube to see the variety of logos I could possibly make. I decided my distributor logo similar to this tutorial due to it creating a 3d effect of a button; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fez1Yn3Ezkg. I followed the instructions of this tutorial and adapted them to suit my theme. I adapted it by adding text and a stroke effect. I then changed the colour to a bright yellow to make it stand out and draw attention. For my lightning bolt shape I added an outer glow and changed it to the same yellow, I then put the spread to 100 and the size to 18 to make it look more dramatic. For the drop shadow I put the distance at 59, spread at 30 and size at 5 to give it a 3D effect. I then added a stroke of black to give it some depth.

To make it pulse, I used the same method as the tutorial I watched for my production logo “Ray Productions”. This would make them very similar thus making my film trailer titles look professional and unique.

My Production Logo

This is my production logo. I wanted to make it look bold and clean cut so the audience can clearly see it. This means that they will be more likely to remember it. The suns replace the O’s in the word “Production”. The suns are a play on the words for the word “Ray” which have connotations of being sunlight and sunrays. I made this logo on Photoshop. I looked at tutorials and looked through books about Photoshop to help me further my knowledge and skills. I was able to create the suns by using shape; rotating them and warping them. I was able to duplicate the layers so they were all the same shapes. I also made the text and the centre of the suns have an outer glow which meant they looked bright, and emphasised the pun of “Ray”.
I wanted to make my production logo transition expand and have a glow to it. I looked at various tutorials and the one I think best suited my logo was - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3zfkAjO5cw. The process behind this was to add my logo onto After Effects with a background which I created. Once it was uploaded, I added an effect called Gradient Ramp and changed the start colour to white and end colour to black. I then added the bevel alpha effect and changed the edge thickness to 4 and light intensity to -4. The next effect I added to the logo was CC light sweep. I went to 3 seconds and set a key frame, then went to 5 seconds and moved the point across and set a key frame. I then made the key frames easy ease so it became smoother.
I then duplicated the layer and deleted the previous effects on the copy and renamed it “stroke”. I put the Vegas effect on this layer. I changed the settings by making it transparent and changing the colour to white. I made the segments to 1 and clicked random phase and width to 3. I made the midpoint opacity to -0.400. I then pressed ALT and rotation stopwatch and entered “time*150”. I then set the start opacity and then at 3 seconds I set a key frame for 0. I then added a CC Radial Fast on the stroke layer and set the settings of zoom to brightest and the amount to 10. I then added the Glow effect. Next I changed their opacity to 0 at the beginning and at 3 seconds I put it to 100. I then moved the stroke layer key frame and then moved the original logo key frame forward and made them all easy ease.
Next, I duplicated the stroke layer and deleted the effects and put it below the original logo. I went to 6 seconds and set a key frame on opacity and then to 7 seconds and to move the opacity to 100.
